Houghton and his son Dudley, came to Nada from the California Cal-ifornia ranch, where they have been staying lately, to look after the Hou ghton place, three miles south of here. 'Charles Workwell arrived from Salt Lake Tuesday morning to work-on work-on the section. "Workwell" ha' been the motto of the present crew so the new man conforms to the j standard. ! Minersville visitors during last week: J. E. Moore and Mrs. R. R. Moore; Mrs. K. E. Mertin, Mrs. Mike Schaaf. Mrs. D. L. Barnes, Mr. R. R. : McGinty and Miss Mildred and Mr. and Mrs. D. Wix. Wood hauling in preparation for the coming winter has begun in Na-' da and the wood piles are swelling again. It is a good idea to get a : permit and not suffer from the qua-! ms of conscience or something mere j material. Mrs. Hedges returned from a visit in Can- i ada a short time since. They were accompanied by a cousin. Mrs. Owens, Ow-ens, on the trip. Miss Ruth Allred. the cousin, will return to her home in Cherryvale, Kans. from Delta. C. D. Keith came out from Milford Saturday afternoon and his son Ce-j eil returned with him. As they ex-' pected to make a trip to- the County j clerk's office, wedding bells will be ringing soon. j j Mrs. Alvin Couch is now living on her homestead west of here, after I having spent the past summer on her husband's place near Latimer. Collis Huntington is living at his old home in Beaver at present. Henry Lindeman purchased several sever-al head of sheep in Cedar and is bringing them here to his ranch ! which is well suited to sheep raising. rais-ing. Sim Kesler went to Milford on the local Friday, and returned Saturday j morning. Loten Kesler has decided to retain his lease on the Norris ranches, so he will not lose this respected family. fam-ily. He went to Milford on business Saturday. Mr. H. E. Smith spent Sunday with his family here, returning to his work in Cedar City Sunday evening. ev-ening. He was glad to find his lit-'' tie daughter, Margaret, very much J better. j i Ray McGinty is now making hisj regular visit with his parents. He I brought with him some new parts I for his brother. Dewey's car. there being a new headlight, which is greatly appreciated by his lady,. friends. ! ' George and Tom Dinwiddie of Es-j condido, arrived in Nada Thursday; in their Chevrolet. They spent nine days on the way from California and thoroughly enjoyed the trip, neither of the brothers having any car trouble whatever. Mrs. H. M. White made a very unfortunate un-fortunate trip to Minersville last week, one of her horses giving out and eventually dying on the way back. Mrs. JC. Mertin assisted her home. |
