Show OFFICIAL RECEIVES THREAT. President of Sugar Company Receives Demand for $10,000. Salt Lake. City. Charles W. Nibley, presiding bishop of the L. D. S. church and general manager of the Utah-Idaho Utah-Idaho Sugar company, has twice been threatened with deatli by blackmailers who demanded SIO.ikio. The second letter demanding money came the day after that set for the blowing up of the Vermont building by an unknown "red." Both letters written by the would-be blackmailers were sent through the mails to Bishop Nibley's home in Logan, Lo-gan, and both demanded the payment of S10.0O0. to be dVp tsited tinder an old building. Private detectives and federal authorities au-thorities have been assigned to the case and are at present engaged in running down a number of clues which they are known to have found. They hope soon to have some tangible evidence evi-dence which will lead to the disclosure of the identity of the blackmailers. |
