Show Wanted, an Opponent Milford Base Ball Team Hungry for a Game Challenges Plentilul, Takers None Milford base ball team is simply pining its young life away for a game of ball. The locals have cleaned np some of the best amateur clubs in the State and are now sighing for new worldB to conquer. The management, after hearing wondrous tales of the sporting epiritprevailing at Nephi and surrounding towns, and being duly impressed im-pressed with the prowess of teams up in that neck of the woods, tried haid to connect up with these towns for. a series of games, but when it came to a "show-down," the sons of Nephi and surrounding tribes had convenient excuses ex-cuses for not "meeting up'' with the lads from Milford. The Milford fellows have had Beaver over here ft couple of times within the past few weeks, and when a return game was arranged for last Sunday at Beaver, the .pome bunch certainly expected if to come off, but no game was played as word was received from Che Beaver management that owing to the cost of high living and the sudden sud-den drop in the volume of per capua circulation, etc., etc., the contest would hve be called off. It may b that Milford will have to tackle the Coast League for a series of games, unless some other good teams arrange for dates, |
