Show M ! 1 f IRMAGEjTC ATRE Sunday and Monday Against the highly dramatic and emotionally stirring story of men who dare the perils of sea and sky, Walter Wanger's new screen presentation, "The Long Voyage Home", comes to the Firmage theatre Sunday and Monday. This story is based on the famous sea play of Eugene O'Neill, America's greatest playwright. The hand-picked hand-picked cast of this thrilling and suspenseful film is headed by such distinguished performers as John Wayne, Thomas Mitchell and Ian Hunter. The latest news and a sportsreel, "The Lure of the Trout", also will be shown. Tuesday and Wednesday Patterned along the same lines as "The L'nder-Pup", a pattern which proved a hit and established Gloria Jean as a star, L'niversal's "A Little Bit of Heaven" comes to this theatre Tuesday and Wednesday. Wednes-day. The story of the film traces the rise of an East Side girl to radio singing fame, with the ensuing en-suing rush of sudden wealth causing caus-ing dissension in the once-happy family. Until Gloria voluntarily "loses" her voice, family troubles run riot. In the cast are Robert Stack, Stuart Erwin, Butch and Buddy and others. A news reel and a March of Time feature, "Americans All!" also will be shown. Thursday and Friday Breath-taking suspense, high-powered high-powered thrills, punchy drama and red-blooded romance are splendidly splen-didly blended in the new Conrad V e i d t-Valerie Hobson starring vehicle, "'Blackout", the stirring spy thriller which comes to the Firmage theatre Thursday and Friday as one of the pictures of the double feature show. Republic's popular Three Mes-quiteers Mes-quiteers series may have changed their personnel, but they haven't lost an iota of their two-fisted, he-man appeal. "Under Texas Skies," which is the other picture of the double feature show for Thursday and Friday with Bob Livingston, Bob Steele and Rufe Davis, is a highly satisfying screen fare from start to finish. Saturday The role of Henry Aldrich was tailor-made for Jackie Cooper. His latest picture of the adventures adven-tures of the hapless Henry comes to this theatre Saturday only. It's title is the Aldrich Family in "Life With Henry", and what a life he leads! Sometimes hilarious, somotimes sad, but always sincere. sin-cere. Henry is a typical high school lad whose faculty for getting get-ting in and out of trouble amounts almost to supernatural. Chapter 10 of "Junior G-Men" and short subjects also will be shown. |
