Show CCC Anniversary . To BeObservedj The eighth birthday of the Civilian Civil-ian Coii-ervation Corps will be ol served by Company 150K at, Burbank Sunday, April G, with an all-day celebration and field day,, according to information given The News by Clyde Tervort, camp superintendent. This camp is one of those sponsored by the United States Grazing Service and the company was located at Milford until just after last fall's general election. Many of the grazing service personnel are the same as when the camp was located here. The day's activities, according to Superintendent Tervort, will i commence at 10:30 a.m., when there will be a Softball game be. tween a team representing the camp and another representing Snake valley residents. Simultaneous Simultan-eous with the ballgame will be other contests, including horseshoe horse-shoe pitching, ping-pong and ether games, with merchandise to be awarded as prizes. At 12 o'clock an inspection of the camp will be made, to be followed fol-lowed at 1 o'clock by a tour of various nearby projects and an inspection in-spection of the work being accomplished. accom-plished. Following the tour of work projects, dinner will be served at 3:30 o'clock. Some 400 pounds of turkey have been ordered in preparation prep-aration for the anniversary dinner din-ner and other items on the menu include sage dressing, giblet gravy, potatoes, salad, sliced tomatoes, to-matoes, pickles, buns, butter, ice cream, jello, coffee and punch. Captain Basil B. Taylor, new commanding officer of company 1308, will open the anniversary program, -to begin at 4:30, with an address of welcome. Other numbers-on the program will include a talk on CCC Opportunities by Thomas C. Caldwell; another, Democracy in Agriculture, by La France Galli; vocal solo, Roma Bishop; talk, Democracy in a Changing World, by La Mar Peterson: Pet-erson: address, Dean W. Seeley, district grazier; short talk by advisory ad-visory board member; vocal duet Lloyd Christopherson and Nina Kesselgesser; address by representative repre-sentative from regional office; talk on Early History of This Section Sec-tion by Judge E. W. Clay. Following the program there will be a free showing of the picture, "Brigham Young," and short subjects. M |
