Show LIONS VISITED BY DISTRICT GOVERNOR The Milford Lions were honored with an unexpected visit from District Dis-trict Governor Urie of Cedar City at their regular meeting in the Walker cafe luncheon room last night. Governor Urie had accompanied accom-panied Mrs. Urie and the president of the Cedar City Lady Lions. Mrs A. W. Stephenson, who caravaned to Milford to attend the first regular reg-ular meeting of Milford's Lady Lions. Before the district governor was introduced Tailtwister Eldredge enjoyed a "field day," collecting fines from various members for alleged, actual and imagined offenses. of-fenses. At one point in the hilar-'ty hilar-'ty retiring Lion President Vance Fisher objected to legality of a fine and had six inches snipped from a new necktie by the aggressive tailtwister. Lion Williams introduced the suggestion that the Lions cooperate cooper-ate in furthering efforts to establish estab-lish for Milford a juvenile recreation recrea-tion program for the summer months. Discussion was active on the matter, with most Lions favoring favor-ing the proposal. The discussion veered more toward vandalism, with Lions- E. L. Smith, V. Wad-doups Wad-doups and J. M. Vogt stressing recent re-cent acts of vandalism of which they had knowledge. Lion Walters cited instances of destruction on government property at the CAA station, and warned that if it continued, con-tinued, the F. B. I. would "take over" investigation and prosecution prosecu-tion activities. He said he had received greater cooperation from these officers than from any of the 38 other clubs in his district. Lions Kohler and Cliff McShane, former members, were reinstated into membership, Lion McShane transferring his membeship from the Beaver club. Delegates to the Cedar City con- vention are Lions Evans, Elwood Jefferson, new president and secretary, sec-retary, respectively, and Ben Hill-man, Hill-man, with Eddie Anderson, Lawrence Law-rence Eldredge and Jay Christen-sen Christen-sen named alternates.
