Show Sheep Men Suffer Loss Wool growers of the United States as a whole suffered loss of almost $46,000,000 in income during 1938 as compared with 1937 despite increased production, estimates of the United States department de-partment of agriculture show. Reason was the fall in average price from 32 cents in 1937 to 19.1 cents in 1938, bringing the ' value of shorn wool from $117,-1 270,000 to $71,378,000. Wool pro- duetion rose to 436,510,000 pounds in 1938, as compared with 432,- j 809,000 pounds in 1937, with the weight of wool per sheep averaging averag-ing 7.98 pounds both years. In Utah the value dropped from $5,-969,000 $5,-969,000 to $3,783,000.
