Williams had given a shower for Mrs. Will Elmer with the following present: Mesdames A. P. McKeon, Berkheimer, Glenn, Stoyell, H. Jefferson, Fred Jeffer- h son, Mclntire, H. Moore, Des Hickman, D. A. Baxter, Cochrane, Frizzell, Jack; Thies;vn, Stirling, Campbell, Gleeson, Gourley, Sloan and Kinney. The Milford Odd Fellows were preparing for the biggest celebration celebra-tion ever held in Utah. The reason for this big time was to celebrate the burning of the mortgage on their hall. Misses Ardath Johnson and Lou Poulton had motored to Salt Lake to visit a couple of days. Ethel Schow had gone to Salt Lake for an appendicitis operation. opera-tion. She was accompanied there by her sister Annette. Mrs. Boyd White had entertained entertain-ed at a linen shower for her sister, Miss Nell Fergusen. Marian Smithson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Dan Smithson of Milford, had married Miss Alice South-worth South-worth of Springville and were to make etheir home in St. George. The Service Star Legion had held their held their monthly meeting meet-ing and Miss Annie J. Atkin was put in president to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mrs-P. Mrs-P. J. Adams. At a Democratic convention held in Milford the following delegates dele-gates had been named to attend the state convention in Salt Lake: W. A. Jameson, C. C. Sloan and Russell E. Parsons. Those named on the different committees for the building of the public play ground had been D. A. Baxter, Mrs. Geo. Atkin, Mrs. C. C Sloan, Mrs. Mary A. McKeon on the finance committee; Mrs. Sam Hanks, Mrs. Fred Jefferson, S. W. Stoker, Mrs. Glenn, Mrs. Ed. Bardsley on the equipment committee; com-mittee; and Mrs. Al McKeon, Mrs. J. Jeffers, Mrs. S. W. Stoker, Mrs. Rains, Ardath Johnson and Delia Cottrell on the amusement committee. |
