Show Safety Sam Says: (Cooperating with State Road Commission,! Utah Highway erintendent, for "Safety On Our Highways.") I do not want to kill or injure anyone through careless driving, or faulty equipment. I drive cautiously cau-tiously and keep my brakes in ( pood condition at all times, never i knowing when it may be necessary to use them instantly and effectively. effec-tively. , Chief Engineer E. C. Knowlton hit the nail on the head when he said, it hardly seems necessary to point out the danger of driving an automobile when one has been drinking'. At one time it may have been considered quite "smart" to drivo while intoxicated. The smart thing to do nowadays, however, is to pass up all drinking if you are planning to drive. Liquor dulls the mental faculties, blurs the vision and slows down reaction time. The drinking driver is a menace to the public and his own worst enemy. |
