Show No S.. No two cotton samples are ever just the same, even though the cotton cot-ton is grown, from "breeder" seed in the same field, and is picked, ginned and handled just alike. There is still a great variation within the bale. Recent observations within fields of first-year-breeder seed have shown that there is as much as five 32nds of an inch difference in the staple between different areas in the same field. There is also a difference dif-ference in the amount of trash and color in the same field. It is also possible to gin one portion of a bale normally and rough another portion. |
