Show j Mrs. Donna Goudie Fisher returned re-turned last week to Milford to re- side, her husband, Sergeant Hal ' J. Fisher, having been given an oKerseas assignment out of San Francisco. They had been resid-; ing ait Spokane, Washington, Mx. Fisher having been supply sergeant ser-geant at nearby Geiger army air field. j Mrs. Douglas Evans and young son Norman of Elumclaw, Wash-: ington, arrived in Milford Wednesday Wed-nesday of last week, for a visit at the home of her grandparents, j Mr. and Mrs. James Lang, and ' also her father, R5ss Lang. Mrs. Evans is the former Miss Mildred Lang, a former resident of Milford. Mil-ford. Mrs. Fred Hartquist and little! daughter left Saurday for a visit j of several days with the former's! home folks in Enterprise, being accompanied by her older daughter, daugh-ter, Mrs. Helen Warmoth of Hollywood, Holly-wood, Who has been a house guest at the M. P. Lewis home since Christmas. Mrs. Hartquist, the former Mrs. Spencer Schow, had been visiting for a few days with local relatives and friends following follow-ing her return from the Hawaiian islands, where her husband is in airways communications service. The latter may return to the states in the near future. - iMrs. Jim Smithson, active worker work-er in the American Legion Auxiliary, Auxi-liary, informs The News that the organization receted a good deal of recognition from state authorities authori-ties and other Auxiliaries on the holiday greeting cards printed by The News and sent to all the Milford Mil-ford boys and girls in the services. The card, an especially attractive one, bore the following message: "Milford is proud of you as one of the many we have in the ser-)v5ce ser-)v5ce of our country, and the members mem-bers of the Milford American Legion Le-gion Auxiliary unite in extending Best Holiday Wishes." Mrs. 0. A. Steenbock was hostess host-ess to a number of friends at her home Sunday, January 16, the occasion oc-casion being the birth anniversaries anniver-saries of Mr. Steenbock, M. L. Buntin and Mrs. I. Altman. A delicious de-licious hot supper was served and the hostess presented each honored honor-ed guest with a lovely birthday cake. They were also presented with clever and useful gifts. Bridge was played, prizes halyiing been won by Mrs. Buntin for points, Mrs Qomnell for honors and Mrs. Cochrane for low score. Those present were Mr. and .Mrs. William Cochrane, Mr. and Mrs. Owen R. Smith, Mr. and Mrs. M. L. Buntin, Mr. and Mrs. I Altmary! Mrs. J. P. Holm, Mrs. A. H. Con-nell, Con-nell, Vernon M. Burns and the host and hostess. Mrs. Ross Palmer was hostess Thursday afternoon of last week at a very enjoyable bridge party. After playing cards Mrs. Palmer served a delicious lunch, assisted by her daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Workman, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Willis Whitbeck. Those present pre-sent were ' Mrs. O. A. Steenbock, Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. Ezra Lyman, Mrs. Al Kirk, Mrs. J. P. Holm, Mrs. William Cochrane, Mrs. J. C. Smith, Mrs. George Moore, iMrs, J. M. Hughes, Mrs. Lamar Outzen, Mrs. Willitm Morris, Mor-ris, Mrs. 0. R. Smith, Mrs. Harry Garfield, Mrs. J. M. Williams, Mrs. David S. Williams, Mrs. LaVar Voorhees and Mrs. Gene Kirk. The high points prize at bridge was won by Mrs. Steenbock and the prize for high honors by Mrs. Nielsen, while Mrs. 0. R. Smith received the low points prize and Mrs. J. C. Smith the low honors j iprize. XT - Earl Richardson of Garrison seems to be a glutton for punishment. punish-ment. Last spring, as he jupped from a truck he lost a finger which had become caught in a rope; and last week-end he again came in for Dr. Max Schlachter to set his left arm, which he had broken just above the wrist in a near-tipover of a load of hay. The Stitchletic club held their annual dinner at the home of Mr. and Mrs. D. N. Hickman Thursday evening of last week. After dinner din-ner the time was spent placing Monte Carlo whist, prizes being won by Mrs. Annis Openshaw and Joe Tribole, consolation awards going to Dave Tanner and Mrs. Joe Tribole. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Openshaw, Mr. and Mrs. Tribole, iMr. and Mrs. William Wil-liam , Baker, Mr. and Mrs. Dave Tanner, Mrs. S. E.
