Show Independence Day Duly Celebrated Through County In common with other parts of the state, Milford's celebration of Independence day for 1939 passed i into history with no accident of importance to mar the rather remarkable re-markable record for traffic safety which is being set up in the state this year. While there was nothing very big in the way of a celebration celebra-tion planned for Milford, there j was entertainment of various kinds furnished the kiddies. And they seemed to enjoy themselves though there was a noticeable lack of the usual Fourth of July noise, due to the legislation against sale and use of most forms of fireworks effected in this and many other states by recent legislative enactment. enact-ment. Quite a numlber of Milford people, peo-ple, with others from Minersville and Beaver, joined Burbank, Garrison Gar-rison and Baker people in attending attend-ing the Ryan Ranch rodea at Bur-bank, Bur-bank, first of what probably will be made an annual affair. Despite the fact that Ely was putting on a nig ceieoration ana many otners figured that they owed it to their communities to take help out by staying in town, there was a good crowd at the ranch and all who attended at-tended report a good card of entertainment. en-tertainment. It is hoped that future such affairs will he scheduled for some other date than a general holiday so as to insure an even better attendance for an event that, by its very originality for this part of the country, will go over big. Minersville is reported to have had a very successful celebration, including an especially good parade pa-rade and program, followed by races and other contests for the entertainment of both young and old. Horse racing in the later afternoon af-ternoon also furnished considerable consider-able excitement and entertainment. Always the racing fans of that community can be depended on to Use rare judgment in matching horses and running off the races and Tuesday was no exception. Beaver also had a celebration with a good parade in the morning, but reports are that a number of disappointments, due to misunderstanding misunder-standing or otherwise, served to check somewhat complete enjoyment enjoy-ment of the holiday.
