Show ;Fathers-Sons Banquet Feature j Of Annual Boy Scout Week i I The annual Fathers and Sons : ibanquet of Boy Scout .troop No. 324 of (the Milf ord L. D. S. ward, ' was held the night of February ! 10 as the feature event of their ' Anniversary week program. The affair was planned . by the members mem-bers of '.the troop committee, C. F. Gronning, Rudolph Nielsen and Dr. Lloyd Kohler, working with Scoutmaster R. E. Foerster and Assistant Scoutmaster J. E. Muncey. Through the cooperation of local merchants and other interested persons a sumptuous repast of roa'slt, turkey with all the "trim-mins," "trim-mins," including ice cream and cake for dessert, was very efficiently ef-ficiently served by the ladies of the Relief society. After the banquet a pageant depicting the history of The Oath from the Itime of the Athenian Youth up to our present day Boy Scoult movement, was presented by members of the troop,, followed by games for fathers and sons.' ! A short bufti inspiring talk on the value of Scouting to the boy was gjvten by Chairman Gronning. The singing Was successfully led by Vance Fisher, accompanied by Delbert Schow. Officiating over ' the entire affair and acting ias master of ceremonies was Scoutmaster Foerster. j Those attending were George Jefferson and Tommy Jefferson, j Ben S. Munney, and R. E. Foerster. In connection with Scoult Anniversary Anni-versary week, the members of Troop 324 had charge of church services Sunday night,,. February 13. The main talk of the evening, erit.itled "Dont Die at Third Base," was very successfully given by Troop Committeeman Rudolph Nielsen. Dturing the Awarding Court session the following awards were made: Tenderfoot Ito Bill Woods, Junior Sampson bnd IGlen Beard; Second Class to Robert Davis; and Life Scout to Vernon Hughes, Who presented aminiature badge of his rank to his mother, Mrs. J. M. Hughes. The highest award that can be. achieved in scouting is Eagle Scout, and this award was presented to Scout Stanley Hughes. At present Stanley is in the armed services of his country so the badge was presented to his father, J. M. Hughes. Another highlight of the services ser-vices was the candle-lighting ceremony, cere-mony, presented by the Scouts of the troop. During this ceremony the boys recommitted themselves to the Scout oath and law. The meeting was closed with the Scout Master's benediction. The program pro-gram was under the direction of Scoutmaster Foerster and Assistant Assist-ant Scoutmaster J. E. Muncey. Scout week, the Scouts of Troop 1 324 presented a pa'gaant on the history of The Oath 'on Tuesday night, February 8, at the regular M. I. A. meeting. The casti was as folloms: Athenian Youth, Bud Zabriskie; King Arthur's Knight, Chuck Baxter; Indian Chief, Ray Barnes; Puritan, Diek Horton; Buckskin man, Ben Price; "Spirit of '7fi" Drummer, Glen Beard; Fla'g bearer, Bert Leany; Fifer.
