S. navy transport. But he had been smuggled on ship and when the executive officer found the little pooch, he ordered the dog ashore. The crew's pleas softened the executive officer's heart. The spaniel stayed, was named "Mr. Chips," and now has a navy identification card and health record. He was present when our troops chased the Japs from the islands of Attu and Kiska. .
