Show Annual State Fair OnlyMonthAway With the 1944 "March to Peace" Utah State fair less than a month r.way, and with abundant wtartime production in all lines evident, fair officials have expressed the 'belief that exhibitions and attendance attend-ance at the exposition, to be held rt the state fair grounds in Salt )jake City September 3 to 9, will lie greater than for many years. Shelton R. Brewster, fair manager, man-ager, reports that information re-c re-c eived from all parts of the state indicate exceptional interest on the part of producers planning to enter exhibits. He urged others who plan to participate to notify his office at 210 Dooly building. Salt Lake City 1, Utah, immediately immediate-ly of their intention to enter exhibits. ex-hibits. "With the recent return of a great part of the fair grounds to the state by the military, which has been occupying the grounds during the war," Mr. Brewster explains, ex-plains, "the greatest show since 1942 'looms for this year. "Interest in plans for the exposition exposi-tion swelled with recent issue of the 1944 premium list, copies of which are still available at offices of the .Utah State Fair association associa-tion in the Dooly building and may be obtained upon request." Members of the board of directors di-rectors of the association have just made a survey of the fair graunds and, on the basis of their findings, have authorized the speeding of improvement work which will put the grounds in the best condition. On the same day, officials of the home making department met in Salt Lake City to discuss their plans for an outstanding show. They issued an invitation for women's organizations of all counties to cooperate in urging full participation of exhibitors in this division. Aside from elaborate displays of exhibits, the fair this year will feature carnival and other entertainment enter-tainment features, including reappearance re-appearance of the Marion Riankin Lovelies, dance specialists, who have won nation-wide acclaim during dur-ing the past winter. A Utah girl to compete for the title of Miss America of 1945 will be chosen during the exposition as an added attraction. The girl who wins will be provided a complete wardrobe, all expenses and a week's hotel accomodations and maals and entertainment at the annual Miss America pageant in New Jersey next year. |
