Show Ruminatiri & Roundabout ? In which Ruminator proposes to jiream a lot, think as little as necessary, scatter a few bouquets bou-quets while their objectives are still above the sod to enjoy them, and fire a hot-shot now and then while said Ruminat or can enjoy seeing the spark:- fly. With the heavy snow of two weeks ago remaining with us for a longer period of time than in many years past, those people in the residence sections who removed re-moved it from their sidewalks have come in for hearty if not articulate ithanks from one and all who have passed their way. Which is not by any means the same kind of thoughts pedestrians have had I for those who did not clean from their walks the snow that was left after the drag employed em-ployed by the town had done the best it could. The alternate thawing iand freezing in the case of the un-cleaned un-cleaned walks has made travel more or less hazardous and decidedly de-cidedly uncomfortable. Our special respect to old ' Juhn Dahl, Main and Center street property owner, who had his walks completely cleaned of snow almost before the storms were over. More power to such as him! The wife of a man who had enlisted en-listed in the navy handed the pastor pas-tor of a church the following note: "Peter Bowers, having gone to sea, his wife desires the prayers of the congregation for his safety." ' The minister glanced over it hurridly and announced: "Peter Bowers, having gone to see his wife, desireB the prayers of the congregation for his safety." |
