Show One of Chief Purposes of Educational Training (By Principal E. R. Moody of the Milford High School) In ojr general educational training train-ing of the average American citizen citi-zen it is quite farfetched to think that it is possible to train each for a definite vocation while on the other hand each individual turned out of our school can possess a keen sense of what constitutes the art of a scholar. A scholar can adjust himself in any form of society so-ciety for if he does not see his way clear he' will set himself to the task of adjusting himself, through study investigation, '. So that this . habit can be developed there is a great need for the school and the home to cooperate in a way that will lead the student to develop study habits, both in school and out of school. For each unit of work that a high school student registers for requires a prepai'ation of one hour-daily hour-daily of good thorough study. During Dur-ing week nights ? from Monday until Friday, if students are to get the most out of educational training, train-ing, recreational participation should of necessity be postponed until week-ends. When pupils inform in-form parents that they are prepared pre-pared without preparation it is a definite indication that their school work s below average. For students stu-dents who are scholars study and do so regularly. For a scholarly citizenry the schools and the home I should cooperate to train pupils to 1 develop habits of study. I , High School Pays Compliment to Townspeople The high school wishes to exT press its appreciation to the many club organizations of the community commun-ity that aided in making Armistice day such a splendid affair both from, 'the program part and the community luncheon. Such social gatherings enlarges citizenship I ideals and points the way for improved im-proved learning. An educational ' institution grows as every individual indivi-dual feels they are reaping something some-thing worth while from it.' The Home Economics Department To Be Improved A complete reorganization of the home economics department is underway, planned on the unit basis so greater efficiency in individual indi-vidual instruction can be had and a more beautiful place for our girls to receive home training. |
