Show CHRISTIAN SCIENCE "Mind" is the subject of the lesson-sermon in First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Milford, on Sunday, February 21. The Golden text is: "Behold, the fear of the God, that is wisdom: and to depart from evil is understanding" under-standing" (Job 28:28). Among the scriptural citations in the lesson-sermon are two verses from Psalms: "Let thy work appear unto thy servants, and thy glory unto their children. And let the beauty of the Lord our God be upon us: and establish thou the work of our hands upon us" (chap. 90:16, 17). Also included are the correlative passages from the Christian Science Sci-ence textbook "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" by Mary Baker Eddy: "Immortal men and women are models of spiritual sense, drawn by perfect Mind and reflecting those higher conceptions of loveliness which transcend all material sense (p. 247). The sculptor turns from the marble to his model in order to perfect his conception. We are all sculptors, working at various forms, moulding mould-ing and chiseling thought. We must form perfect models in thought and look at them continually, continu-ally, or we shall never carve them out in grand and noble lives. Let unselfishness, goodness, mercy, justice, health, holiness, love the kingdom of heaven reign within us, and sin, disease, and death will diminish until they finally disappear" disap-pear" (p. 248). . o |
