Show Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Smith spent several clays this week in Salt Lake City. I Mrs. J. M. Hughes was a Salt Lake City business visitor during! the week-end. Mrs. Kent Smith and Mr. and Mrs. Morgan Griffiths returned home Saturday after visiting in Salt Lake City a week with relatives rela-tives and fri' Charles Glenn, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. James Glenn and one-time popular Milford high school student and athlete, is here from Winnemucca, Nevada for a visit with relatives and old friends. Mr. and Mrs. J. S. Rickerson have returned to Milford to make their home following a residence of some time in Minersville. They are occupying the Kohler bungalow bunga-low just vacated by Mr. and Mrs. Gordon West. Mr. and 'Mrs. D. E. Kirk left Monday for a few days visit in Salt Lake City. Mrs. I. AJtman is visiting tin Los Angeles, California with relatives rela-tives and friends. Frank Stewart, popular local feed and hardware merchant, is in Salt Lake City this week, attending attend-ing the state woolgrowers' convention. con-vention. Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Jameson are having The News sent to Mr. Jameson's cousin, Mrs. Leo Louis, formerly of Minersville but now living at Compton, California. The Milford valley seems to have been especially favored with recent storms, with the west range having had an even heavier fall of wet snow. It is said that farmers and stockmen around Delta-way are seriously concerned by the little moisture they have had. Mrs. Ross Baxter was hostess to Members of the Bridgadier club Monday evening with Mrs. Vern Shingleton winning the high points prize at bridge and Mrs. O. R. Smith the high honors prize. Others present were Mrs. William ' Morris, Mrs. J. P. Holm, Mrs. R. B. Colburn, Mrs. O. A. Steenbock 1 and Mis. J. W. Lee. j Several couples surprised Mrs. ' Harper Buhl at her home Thurs- j day evening of last week, the oc-1 casion being her birthday. Those present were Mr. and Mrs. Fay Anderson, Mr. and Mrs. William Wood, Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Elliott, Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Carden, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Thompson and Mr. Buhl. Pinochle was played during the evening and a hot plate lunch was enjoyed by those present. Members of the Thursday Night Bridge club were entertained January Jan-uary 19 at the home of Mrs. Sam Cline. Those present were Mrs. George Moore, Mrs. J. R. Murdock, Mrs. David S. Williams, Mrs. R. J. Magill, Mrs. J. H. Weston, Mrs. E. L. Smith and Mrs. M. H. Pool. The prizes at bridge were received by Mrs. Smith for high points and Mrs. Pool for high honors, while Mrs. Moore received the consolation consola-tion prize. Mrs. Freda Outzen entertained a number of women friends at her home Sunday afternoon, the oc-cassion oc-cassion being her birthday. A very enjoyable time was had, the period being spent playing bridge, after which a dainty lunch was served". Those present were Mrs. Arthur Connell, Mrs. E. C. Edwards, Ed-wards, Mrs. LaMar Outzen, Mrs. E. R. Butler, Mrs. 0. R. Smith, Mrs. Rudolph Nielsen, Mrs. A. J. Raines, Mrs. W. G. White, Mrs. 0. R. Steenbock, Mrs. Ellen Workman and Mrs. David S. Williams. Mrs. Outzen was the recipient of many beautiful gifts. Mrs. W. G. White also received many nice presents, it being her birthday the next day. |
