Show Next Week Is Set For Dairy Schools The annual dairy short course conducted 'by the U. S. A. C. Extension Ex-tension service will be held again at Beaver on January 30, according j to County Agent Hyrum Steffen. Another short course will be held at Minersville the following day I to serve farmers there and from I South Milford. Sessions will be held throughout the day and evening beginning at 10 a.m., with time out for meals and evening chores. Class and discussion leaders will be Lyman H. Rich, extension dairy specialist; Arthur J. Morris, dairy manufacturing manufac-turing specialist; and Aaron F Bracken, extension agronomy specialist. Each discussion will be packed with practical information or dairy cow feeding and management, manage-ment, methods of producing high quality milk, and pasture and crop production. Many farmers in the county now planning the construction con-struction of milking barns to produce pro-duce grade A milk will be interested interest-ed in the detailed discussion of these facilities by Professor Morris. Mor-ris. The number of milking machines ma-chines in use in the county has increased in-creased greatly in recent years Many other dairymen plan to buy them in the near future. Professor Profes-sor Rich will give, among' other things, information on the proper care and use of these for best results. re-sults. Professor Bracken will have excellent information on pastures and crops and will make liberal use of colored slides to illustrate his lectures. Some of the pictures are of Beaver county scenes. The school at Beaver will take place in the basement of the library and the one at Minersville will be held in the town hall or high school. |
