Show Funeral Is Held At Milford For Garrison Woman Brief funeral services for Mrs. Fred Schumacher of Garrison were held Wednesday afternoon at 1:00 o'clock in the Milford Methodist church, the service being be-ing conducted by the Reverend Jesse Hall of Pioche, who has been conducting services regularly in Milford for some time. Mrs. Schumacher Schu-macher died Monday evening following fol-lowing an operation for removal of gall bladder after being in a serious condition since an emergency emer-gency operation for drainage of the gall bladder seven weeks ago. Musical numbers given in connection con-nection with the service included vocal solos by Mrs. R. H. Nelson and Dan Ferguson and a vocal duet by Mrs. F. E. Casterline and Mrs. W. E. Martin. Following the service the funeral cortege left for Fillmore, where interment took place beside the grave of a sister of the deceased. Mrs. Ruby Stella Schumacher was born in Fillmore April 16, 1877, the daughter of Isaac and Harriet Gandy, pioneer settlers of Snake valley, for whom the little settlement of Gandy, in western Millard county, was named. She was married to Edwin Lake March 5, 1806, and they made their home in Garrison, two children chil-dren being born of this union: Mrs. Margie Elise Lake Quate of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Gladys Norma Lake .Christopher-son of Garrison. After the death of Mr. Lake she was married to Fred Schumacher June 5, 1911. They had no children. Mrs. Schumacher had taken care of her aged mother for 25 years and was much in demand in the sickroom throughout that section, her readiness to serve on little notice and her cheerfulness under all conditions winning for her innumerable lifelong friends. She and her husband were always spoken of as an ideal couple and they counted their friends among both young and old. The deceased is survived by her husband and two daughters, also her mother, 91 years of age, and two sisters: Mrs. James Robison of Gandy and Mrs. Robert Smith of Garrison. There are seven grandchildren. r |
