Show North-South Road Grading Underway Word of the intention of the Millard county board of commissioners commis-sioners to grade a good road from Delta to the Beaver county line near Read has been seeping through for several weeks though some local people have appeared to take these reports at less than face value. That those rumors were a fact and, what is even better, that the work is well underway, is the pleasing report of O. F. Hubbell, Milford mayor and Beaver county commissioner, who returned Wednesday Wed-nesday on No. 7 from Salt Lake and viewed the progress of Mil-a Mil-a few miles north of Black Rock, lard road-building operations until where the equipment was then working. Since then, it is learned, learn-ed, the grading has been completed com-pleted to Black Rock and it is taken for granted that continuation continua-tion of the road south to the Beaver Bea-ver county line wijl be pressed with no loss of time. The Beaver county commissioners commission-ers have ordered a large grader and are anticipating proceeding with work on this end of the road as soon as it arrives. With this road graded it only remains for some drainage structures struc-tures to be installed and gravel surfacing applied where natural gravel conditions do not prevail, pre-vail, to give western Millard and Beaver counties the highway for which there has long been a real need with that need developing into a demand as traffic continues to press for the shortest distance, easiest grades and least hazardous hazard-ous routes between travel objectives. |
