Files of the Milford News of Vii -ri1i53 Fifteen years ago this week j The Eastern Star had entertained in a delightful manner at the Hunter residence on north Main street the occasion being a farewell party for Mrs. Sam Blunt, who was moving to Salt Lake. A couple of hours of "500" were enjoyed. The guests included in-cluded members of the order and other close friends as follows: Mesdames P. J. Evans, J. Williams, A. P. Mc-Keon, Mc-Keon, Wm. Frazell, J. Arney, Wm. Sterling, Wm. Cochrane, T. Gleeson, C. Tullis, F. Calloway, J. F. Berk-himer, Berk-himer, H. Jefferson, Geo. Jefferson, C. C. Sloan, 0. E. Adkins, C. A. Bix-ler, Bix-ler, Wm. Femley, C. Thomas, R. Lemon, J. Baxter, J. Stoyell, H. Hunter Hun-ter and Miss Nina Thiesson of the Eastern Star anil Mesdames L. D. Carter, H. Wheat, P. J. Adams, J! Glenn; Misses Inez Elkins and Him-street. Him-street. Members of the ladies auxiliary of the engineers club had held an all-day all-day session at the Odd Fellows hall.' Out of town members present were Mrs. F. C. Sullivan of Lynndyl, Mrs. C. I. Himstreet and Mrs. McCans of Caliente, and Mrs. S. K. Runswick and Mrs. Russell of Salt Lake. Other members were Mrs. J C. Jef-fers, Jef-fers, president; Mrs. Wm. Sterling, Mrs. G. C. Cuddy, Mrs. John Killam, Mrs. George Ranson, Mrs. F. Calloway, Callo-way, Mrs. Charlie Husbands, Mrs. Elmer Blanpied and Mrs. Wm Dawson. Daw-son. In the evening a luncheon was given at the home of Mrs. F. Calloway. The Salt Lake route had close to 150 men in the local shops and was ' doing the largest business in the history of the road with 16 crews on the Milford trainsmen's board and a great many loads of dead freight for the east awaiting sufficient power to be moved. Miss Barbara Fotheringham had accepted a position in the Hubbell drug store. i Will Ashworth of Beaver had come over to accept a position with J. W. Clay in the building trade. Conductor Ed Marksheffel and family had moved back from Provo and were at home in their residence on north Main street. Walter James, the rustling business busi-ness man of Black Rock, had come in from Newhouse after attending to his shearing and settling up on his wool business. Ted Bird and Roy Rogers had i motored to Beaver on business concerning con-cerning a plumbing contract At the time they were doing plumbing for Frank Williams of Minersville. Mrs. Stansbury had entertained a dozen young friends in honor of the 11th birthday of her grandson, Jack Hillary. |
