Show Changes Underway At Airways Station Quite a change in the operator personnel per-sonnel at the local airways radio station maintained by the department depart-ment of commerce is being effected this week. H. J. Shepherd is being transferred to Douglas, Arizona,' there to take charge of a station, j while George S. Morris is here from Rock Springs, Wyoming, to be opera-1 tor in charge. E. F. Key, who has! been acting operator in charge for! some time, will remain here, as also will V. M. Blackwell, regular opera-' tor. George Day, who came here as , relief operator and has been here for! several months, will also remain here, at least for a time. Milford people are loath to see Mr. and Mrs. Shephed leaving but are united in wishing them well in their, new location a deserved promotion j for Mr. Shepherd. The exact time of i their departure is not known as ap-1 proaching vacation periods of thej operators at the station make things! a bit indefinite. j Mr. Morris is not new to Milford1 people, having become more or less j acquainted during a previous residence resi-dence here some . eight years ago. Interviewed by The News, he told of; a unique experience he had while here at that time when he located, set up, operated and dismantled aj radio station for the Western Air; Express company all in the course of a month. He also conducted a radio column in The News at that, time, he informs us. Mr. and Mrs. j Morris and their three kiddies did not come here directly from Rock Springs but have spent the past ! month in California. I |
