Show SOUTH MILFORD County Agent Lew Mar Price has appointed Nella Jones to the 4-H club leadership for the summer months. The project will be foods and the first meeting will be held on Sunday, June 10, at the club house at 2 o'clock. The girLs for this group will range from 10 to 15 years of age. The Merrymakers held a delightful delight-ful dancing party last Friday evening eve-ning with Mrs. Walter Weber as patroness. pat-roness. Mrs. Tom Martin is seriously ill at her home on the ranch. The frost of last Friday night lightly damaged all alfalfa but did serious garden and hay damage in some sections of the. Flat. The first cutting of alfalfa is being taken care of as well as the extremely ex-tremely high winds allow but the work and hours are most difficult. The crop will fall under estimated tonnage. A fire broke out on the W. W. Cook place last Tuesday afternoon and for a time threatened the barns where two valuable stallions were quartered. Fanned by, the high wind tha blaze spread rapidly to racks, sheds and fences. The Milford fire department made a spectacular run to the fire being just 12 minutes fromi the time of the call until they turned into the Cook's gate. Their hose soon subdued the fire and saved j barns and hay. Neighbors and pass-ling pass-ling autoists also rendered valuable assistance. as-sistance. Too much cannot be said in ' praise of and gratitude to the boys of the fire corps. The family and community com-munity again express appreciation of their efforts. The loss was confined to fences, poles, feed racks and some .rubbish. The fire's orgin is as yet undetermined. un-determined. Mitchell Fisher returned on Monday from Logan where he has completed his first years studies at the U. A. C. James Connell of the Provo high rchool faculty arrived with his two small sons on Sunday evening to visit his mother and sister, Mrs. Connell and Mrs. Reuben Jones.. Miss Ethel Stanley with her parents, par-ents, Mr. and Mrs. George Stanley, left by motor last Wednesday to visit the southern Utah parks, Boulder dam, Los Angeles, San Francisco and northern points. They will spend some time at Roseberg, Oregon, where lives Mr. Stanley's sister, whom he has not seen for twenty years. The trip will take about six weeks time. They will return by way of Idaho. e - |
