Show I FARM NEWS NOTES I j BY LEW MAR PRICE j j County Agent J Store Vegetables for Winter In new series Circular No. 51, Extension Ex-tension sen-ice, U. S. A. C. on "Storing "Stor-ing Winter Vegetables for the Farm Home," Professor J. C. Hogenson gives simple, practical and inexpensive inexpen-sive storage methods that practically every home in our county can well afford to adopt. It is an important factor in the food program of every home. Professor Hogenson states that the storage of vegetables involves two groups of factors: first, the crop itself, it-self, and, second, the storage space. Every farm in our county has produced pro-duced a garden this year, and the food supply of the family has been greatly helped therefrom. Many cf the most important of these vegetables vege-tables still remain and can be kept fresh for use during the entire winter and spring if given the proper attention at-tention before being injuried by frost, livestock, etc. The above circular which was published and many of them distributed distri-buted in Beaver county in 1932, will give the information needed to preserve pre-serve this most important crop for use in its most desirable form during the winter. It can he secured by applying ap-plying to either the college or to the county agent. |
