Show LOCALS f Dr. Charles R. Parrish returned Saturday night from Salt Lake City, accompanied by his son Max, who w'll spend some time in Milford, and his father, C. A. Parrish, of Center-ville. Center-ville. who was able to spend only two (ii three days here. Mrs. Abbie Anderson, formerly of Miifurd and at one time associated with The Milford News, passed through Milford Monday on No. 8, en route to Belva, 111., to visit her home town. She is now located at Santa Paula, California. , Word reached local friends last week of the sudden death of Ike Rob-irtson, Rob-irtson, 52, wellknown rancher of the section north of Garrison. Mr. Robinson Rob-inson suffered a stroke while at work in his garden and death ensued an hour or so later, according to the report. Mrs. A. O. Webb entertained the Trainmen Auxiliary Thursday of last week at her home. Those present were Mrs. A. J. Jensen, Mrs. S .E. Pitch-forth, Pitch-forth, Mrs. H. E. Phelps, Mrs. D. M. Edwards, Mrs. Lloyd Lee and Mrs. L. D. McFadden. Various games were enjoyed during' the evening, Mrs. Pitchforth winning the prize for the highest score. Mrs. Maud Kirn and son and Mr. and Mrs. W. G. McCarty left last week for their home in Temple City, California, after spending some three weeks in Milford, during which time the bakery building, located north of The News office and belonging to Mrs. Kirn, has been placed in first class condition throughout, with a view to early occupancy after a considerable con-siderable period of disuse. The work of finishing the new $35,000 L. D. S. ward chapel for Milford Mil-ford is proceeding rapidly now, with a determination to finish the building build-ing by July 24, according to rep .rt. Carpenters, plasterers and other ar-tesians ar-tesians are all busily at work and those in charge have the hearty pood wishes of the entire community since the completed building will be a distinct dis-tinct credit to the town and county. The Fifty-Fifty club met last Friday Fri-day evening at the home of Mrs. Freda Outzen. Club members present were Mrs. A. 0. Webb, Mrs. G. W. White, Mrs. L. D. McFadden, Mrs. O. P. Smith; and Mrs. S .E. Pitch-forth. Pitch-forth. Invited guests were Mrs. James Gleen and Mrs. Stonehocker. Mrs. McFadden won first prize, Mxs. Glenn the consolation and Mrs. Stonehocker Stonehock-er the guest prize. The Robinson ranch house, something some-thing of a landmark northwest of Baker, Nevada, and occupied by the Arvice Robinson family, burned to the ground some two weeks ago, according ac-cording to report, the fire getting underway at about 6 o'clock in the morning and some of the occupants of the house narrowly escaping with their lives, nothing but the night-clothing night-clothing they were wearing being saved. Mr. and Mrs. A. C. Saunders were Milford visitors Saturday, having just returned from Salt Lake City, where they took delivery of a fine new car. Mr. Saunders is the former owner and editor of both the Milford News and the Beaver Press but is temporarily out of the newspaper game though they are making their home in Beaver for a few weeks, pending a visit to Colorado and other eastern points. The new car is an Essex Terraplane of the latest model and was purchased through W. R. Martin of the Martin garage. a . |
