Show State Officials Proclaim Open Seasons For Waterfowl and Elk Special Regulation To Govern Shooting of Doe Deer on Pine Valley Preserve The federal government has proclaimed pro-claimed the period from October 12 to December 16, 1934, Friday, Saturday Satur-day and Sunday of each week, for the i shooting of migratory wild foul in the state of Utah.. Newell B. Cook, state fish and game commissioner of Utah, in accordance ac-cordance with said ruling and under the authority of Section 30-0-59, Revised Re-vised Statutes of Utah, 1933, hereby here-by declares the period commencing at sunrise October, 12 and continuing each Friday, Saturday and Sunday only, until sundown on the evening of December 1G, as the only dates for the hunting of migratory wildfowl in the state of Utah in the year 1934. Provided that the hunting hours of each hunting day shall commence at sunrise and close at sunset, and that during the said open season the following fol-lowing daily bag limit and possession posses-sion limit shall maintain throughout the state of Utah, to-wit: DUCKS Except wood duck, ruddy duck, and bufflehead duck) twelve in the aggregate of all kinds but not more than five of any one kind or i more than five in the aggregate of !the following species: eider duck, jcanvasback, redhead, greater scaup, lesser scaup, ringneck, blue-wing I teal, green-wing teal, cinnamon teal, j shoveller and gadwall; and any per-' per-' son at any one time may possess not ; more than 24 ducks in the aggregate i of all kinds, but not more than ten of I any one, or more than ten in the ag-j ag-j gregate. of the following species: eider duck, canvas back, redhead, greater scaup, lesser scaup, ringneck, i blue-wing teal, green-wing teal, cinnamon cin-namon teal, shoveller and gadwall. Elk Proclamation After due investigation, we, the State Game Refuge committee, find that the elk have increased in number num-ber to an extent that a limited number num-ber may be taken without detriment to the elk herds of the state. The state game committee and state board of big game control, under the authority of Section 30-0-54, Chapter 27, Laws of Utah, 1933,: hereby declares that the open season during which elk may be legally leg-ally killed in the state of Utah during the year 1934 shall be from November Novem-ber 8 to November 17, both dates included; in-cluded; and The rules and regulations governing govern-ing this hunt, tho issuance of per-mits, per-mits, the number of animals to be I killed, the territory in which hunting may be done, etc., shall be as follows: That the Fish and Game commissioner, commis-sioner, as chairman of the committe, shall issue 390 permits for the killing 'of such elk; that such permits shall be sold for $10.00 each to residents of i the state of Utah for all districts (ex-! Forest sen-ice and the associated game clubs: That all places deia;nated on which hunting shall be allowed are hereby declared temporary state game preserves pre-serves for the period of the elk hunt, November 8 to 17 inclusive, and all fit earms other than those carried on a permit are strictly prohibited; provided pro-vided that the use of 25-35 and smaller small-er calibre guns shall not he permitted; per-mitted; That the fish and game commissioner, commis-sioner, as chairman of the committee, shall apportion the permits issued for the killing of elk as follows: Cache District, 75 head For the killing of bull elk with pronged horns only (20 elk to be taken from the area north of Logan river and 55 to be taken south of Logan river.) Nebo District, 75 head For the killing of elk (25 permits for cow-elk, cow-elk, 50 permits for bull elk with pronged horns, 15 of 25 cow elk to be taken from area south of Salt creek and 10 east of the Golden ridge).. Heaston District, 15 head For the killing of bull elk with pronged horns only. Cedar Mountain District, 50 head For the killing of elk (25 permits for cow elk, 25 permits for bull elk with pronged horns, 15 of 50 permits to be nui-resident. Manti-Fi.-ihlake District, 200 head For killing of bull elk with horns only. Provided further that in all districts dis-tricts except the Manti-Fishlake, the entire district shall be open to hunting hunt-ing under the strict supervision of the fish and game department and the U. S. forest service; provided that on the Manti-Fishlake district the following described area shall be open to hunting: The entire Manti National forest and that portion of the Fishlake National Na-tional forest lying north of the following fol-lowing described boundary line: Beginning Be-ginning at a point where the Soldier Fork canyon intersects the boundary line of the Fishlake National forest; thence southeasterly along the Sa-lina-Gooseberry road to the Gooseberry Goose-berry ranger station; thence southeasterly south-easterly along the ranger trail to the head of Yogo creek; thence down Yogo creek to the state highway; thence easterly along the state highway high-way to the east boundary of the Fishlake National forest. Provided that the entire west slope, or the Tooele county side of the Heaston game preserve shall be open to the hunting of deer during the regular open season for 1934, but tl at the east slope of said preserve, or the Salt Lake county water-shed, shall be entirely closed during such season. Provided further that the south Willow creek game preserve, which includes all of the drainage of south Willow creek inside the Grantsville division of the Wasatch National forest for-est in ranges fi and 7 west, shall be closed to hunting during the entire hunting season of 1934. Provided that anyone whomsoever found guilty of violating any of the rules and regulations of this hunt shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in a sum of not less than $100.00 as prescribed under the authority of Section 30-0-54, Chapter 27, Laws of Utah, 1933. Open Reason on Doe Dear in Pine Valley After due investigation, we, the State Game Refuge committee, find that doe deer have increased in number num-ber to an extent that a limited number num-ber may be taken without detriment to the deer herds of the Pine Valley district. We, the State Game Refuge committee com-mittee and the State Board of Big-Game Big-Game Control, under the authority of Section 30-0-54, Chapter 27, Laws of Utah, 1933, do hereby declare that the open season during which doe doer may be legally killed in the Pine Vally district only during the year 1934 shall be from November 1 to November 10, both dates included; and That the fish and game commissioner, commis-sioner, chairman of the committee, shall issue 200 permits for the killing of such does; that such permits shall be sold for $2.00 each to residents of the state of Utah, and for $15.00 to non-residents; and The rules and regulations governing govern-ing this hunt, and the issuance of permits shall be in accordance with the same rules stated above governing govern-ing the elk hunt. Provided that anyone whomsoever found guilty of violating any of the rules and regulations of this hunt shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and shall be fined in a sum of not less than $100.00 as prescribed under the authority of Section 30-0-54, Chapter 27, Laws of Utah, 1933. |
