Show FIRE DEPARTMENT TO GET NEW TRUCK BOARD ALSO DECIDES TO IMPROVE ROADS Announcement of the purchase of a truck for the water service department depart-ment and the approved motion to buy a new truck for the fire department depart-ment was made at the town board meeting last night. A Star touring was bought for the water department; it is being made over by Ted Kronholm for a truck. Only a chasis for the fire department depart-ment will be bought and the present equipment will be mounted upon it. It will be a Chevrolet six; the old machine was found unreliable. The latter will be mounted by a water tank to be used sprinkling the streets. i To Surface the Roads Roads through the flats and approaches ap-proaches to town pavement will be improved at once. L. G. Clay stated that the Moscow mine and the Eeaver Crown mining concerns had signified their willingness to give at least ?200 each for road surfacing. The town will also be set aside money for road and street improvement, although this was not decided upon by motion. Mr. Clay was instructed to go ahead with plans to improve roads and streets and make known later what should be appropriated by the town. The county will undoubtedly be found willing to match these private and town expenditures for road improvement. improve-ment. ' In behalf of the fire department, Lorin Osbom and Walter Griffiths appeared and asked for new lengths of fire hose. The town stated that the fire hose would be no longer taken over for street sprinkling and a new smaller hose would be bought for that purpose. The representatives representa-tives were apprized of the board's action regarding a new fire truck, and they stated that present equipment, equip-ment, as hose and booster pump, would suffice for a year or two, inasmuch in-asmuch as the board had gone to the expense of a new truck. Bill Thompson was granted a dray license. Only two bills were ordered paid, one for truck and one for insurance. Others were held over till the next meeting. Mayor Hubbell, Clerk Davis, Trustees Murdock, Clay" and Farmer and Waterrrtaster Kronholm were present. |
