Show Mrs. Rochek Entertains Mrs. Mildred Jtochek entertained the following at bridge Thursday afternoon: af-ternoon: Mrs. Jeanette Kohler, Mrs. Audrey Broyles, Mrs. Vera Yepson and Mrs. Louise Campbell were present. pre-sent. First prize was won by Vera Yepson. At six o'clock delicious refreshments refresh-ments were served. Mrs. Steenbock Hostess at Bridge Mrs. Otto A. Steenbock entertained Monday evening at a bridge party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Tul-lis, Tul-lis, of Provou The invited guests were Mr. and Mrs. Karl S. Carlton, Mr. and Mrs. John E. Hanlon, Mr. and Mrs. L. B. Waddingham, with Mr. Carlton winning first prize for men and Mrs. John E. Hanlon first for the ladies. A lovely lunch was served by the hostess. Birthday Party Mrs. W. G. White entertained at a birthday party Thursday evening. Invited In-vited guests were Mrs. Wm. Dawson. Mrs. J. C. Jeffers, Mrs. J. H. Hanlon, Mrs. L. B. Waddingham, Mrs. J. A. Raines, Mrs. J. S. Rickerson, Mrs. S. E. Pitchforth. The evening was spent in playing bridge, Mrs. Dawson winning points, Mrs. Waddingham honors, Mrs. Rickerson, consolation. At a late hour delicious hot luncheon was served. The hostess received many beautiful gifts. Pierian Club Guests of Mrs. I. L. Kelley Mrs. I. L. Kelley entertained the members of the Pierian club at her home Monday evening. First vice-president, Mrs. Ellings-worth Ellings-worth was in the chair. Roll call was answeed by members present, each giving a very good sentiment quotation quota-tion from a favorite author. The English lesson was conducted by Mrs. White and consisted of pro-nounciation pro-nounciation and definitions of words. All took part. Mrs. Ellingsworth read two articles artic-les from the Literary Digest, entitled "Flourishing the Economical Ax," and "The Way Out of the Debauch." The "Question Box" brought out some interesting present-day questions ques-tions and their answers. A letter from a former president, Mrs. Lotta Bardsley, was read by the secretary, in which Mrs. Bardsley said: "This little poem will express my best wishes to you." "I should like to send you a sunbeam, Or a twinkle of some bright star, Or a tiny piece of downy fleece That clings to a cloud afar. I should like to send you the essence Of a myriad sun-kissed flowers; Or the litting song as it floats along Of a brook through fairy bowers. I should like to ' send you the dew drops That glisten at break of day And then at night the eerie light That mounts the Milky Way. I should like to send you the power That nothing can overthrow, The power to smile and laugh the while, As on through life you go. After adjournment of the business meeting the hostess, assisted by her little daughter served delicious refreshments. re-freshments. Mrs. Lorus Hand was an invited guest and added pleasure to the evening. The club will meet at the home of Mrs. Ellingsworth on Monday, February Feb-ruary 8, at which time the following program will be given: "American Government," conducted by Mrs. Mrs. Kelley; article on Abraham Lincoln Lin-coln by Mrs. White; Current Events, by Mrs. Murdock. A full attendance is requested and anyone desiring to join the club is invited. Miss Delia Kirk Hostess of Bridge Club Miss Delia Kirifc entertained the Bridge club at the home of her brother, broth-er, D. E. Kirk, Tuesday evening. Members present were: Mrs. Leah Richards, Mrs. Janett Kohler, Mrs. Alice Heslington, Mrs. Lavern Jones, Miss Erma Fother-ingham, Fother-ingham, Miss Eva Coleman, Miss Gladys Coleman. Guests present wera: Miss Nelda Eyre, Miss Theon Gillins, Miss Han-nora Han-nora Hutchins, Mrs. Nettie Kirk. "Club prize points was won by Leah Richards; club prize honors, Erma Fotheringham; guest prize points, Hannora Hutchins; guest prize honors, hon-ors, Mrs. Nettie Kirk. A one course luncheon was served. Host to "Big Four" Club Mrs. B. E. Hutchins entertained the Big Four Bridge club at her home Wednesday evening. Those present were: Mrs. John Hanlon, Mrs. Joe Hanlon, Mrs. Ray Malstrom, Mrs. Jay Jeffers, Mrs. Otto Ot-to Melcher, Mrs. Lloyd Lee, Mrs.: Wilson Moore, Mrs. Dick Johnston.
