PLAN BUYING POULTS COLLECTIVE Members of the Beaver Branch of the Utah Poultry Association have a project under way for buying turkey poults and baby chicks collectively through the association this season, which it is believed will result in a saving to the growers. A meeting of the association members mem-bers will be held at the club house in South Milford in the near future, at which time' it is hoped to have the county agent present, to discuss this phase of the industry. The exact date of the meeting will be announced later. la-ter. Turkey growing proved one of the most profitable units of the farm industry in-dustry in Beaver county last season, as through the work of the local association as-sociation practically all the birds brought prime prices on the market. It is expected that there will be a large number of turkeys raised in the county the coming season, ahd if the association is able to secure these poults at a discount by collective buying, the growers will profit thereby. there-by. It is reported that several ranchmen ranch-men are considering engaging in turkey tur-key growing on an extensive scale during the coming year. With the climate, feed and range for the birds, with co-operative buying and marketing, mark-eting, the industry should grow to a points where it may be expected that a number of carloads of dressed birds will be shipped from here annually. o |
