Show LIONS DEVASTATE FOOD AT BAZAAR i i Ladies Also Attend Luncheon at L. D. S. Talk by Dr. Bybee Features Meeting. i Serving a roast pork or chicken dinner, ladies of the Relief Society had as guests at the church bazaar at noon Thursday members of the Lions Club and several of their ladies. An excellent dinner was served which was greatly enjoyed by those present, pres-ent, j The Lions and their wives, seated at one long table, enjoyed the regular routine of business which was en- j livened a little by a very good talk by Dr-. Bybee. Speaking on the sub-' ject of the Boys' Calf Club, Dr. Bybee said that the sponsorship of the club by the Lions was much appreciated by the yougsters. The club has been named the Milford Lions and Community Com-munity Boys' Calf Club. He men-, tioned that at the last meeting of the boys, a paper was read by one of the lads on the subject of stock-raising, which was highly creditable and worth the study of adults interested in the same subject. j Deploring the fact that Beaver county failed to have a single exhibit at the state fair, with the exception of the displays in mining and those offered by the girls club, he said that it should be the aim of the new boys' club to have a good livestock exhibit at the fair next year. He closed his talk with an interesting interest-ing resume of current events, pointing point-ing out to his listeners the trend of the times as indicated by the newspaper news-paper stories of the day. D. O. Dastrop, manager of Skaggs-Safeway, Skaggs-Safeway, was introduced by Ross Palmer as an applicant for membership member-ship in the Milford Lions Club. Dr. C. R. Parrish read a letter from the Public Utilities Commission acknowledging the communication from the Milford Lions, wherein the local club urged the granting of a bus line franchise to the Utah Parks company, for a line between Salt Lake City and Arizona. The meeting was closed with a bit of facetiousness on the part of R. E. Ellingsworth, when asked to suggest a worthwhile major club activity. He recounted many great improvements now completed by the club and said that all there was left to do was the development of our oil fields. Bishop W. A. Miller thanked the club for its attendance and the Lions gave the Relief Society a vote of thanks for the excellent repast. |
