Show NEW GRASS FOR OUR DESERT Arid lands of the West and Southwest South-west may yet support 'millions of head of cattle if a species of desert grass known as "karroo," to be imported im-ported from South Africa, lives up to advance notices. This grass which thrives on little or no moisture makes mak-es good forage for cattle and if adapted ad-apted to our barren soils would greatly increase the value of such land. The grass is to be tested on an area of arid land within the Wasatch Was-atch National Forest in Utah. |
