Show RED CROSS MAY SECURE MORE WHEAT FOR FREE DISTRIBUTION As of June 4, 1932, the Red Cross under the, terms of the Act of Congress Con-gress approved March 7th had re ceived applications from 2,813 chapters, chap-ters, representing all the states for flour to be distributed to 2,403,450 families, totalling over 10,815,625 persons, and applications from 327 chapters for stock feed to and 175,-270 175,-270 families. 1,922,833 barrels of flour and 220,079 tons of stock feed represented the total orders on that state, requiring 25,000,268 bushels of wheat. The remaining fifteen million mil-lion bushels is expected to be quite sufficient to meet all needs during the summer and early fall. Beaver chapter has received word from branch office headquarters that legislation is being considered in congress con-gress calling for additional Farm Board wheat to be administered in the same manner as the original forty million bushels. |
