Show ! SIX TAKE PART IN ! DECLAMATORY WORK CONTEST WAS HELD MONDAY AFTERNOON Seven students took part in the j declamatory contest at the high j jchool Monday afternoon. The selec- J tions were all of a dramatic nature and were uniformly well delivered, i The occasion was the first of its kind which has been undertaken by the local high school, but from the performances per-formances of Monday, great success is predicted in this line of work in the future. The students were coached m their work by Miss Margaret Leonard. The following students participated: Elma Bird, Helen Bird, Irene Watts, I Bill Ellingsworth, Melvin Bowman and Ruth Reveal. The judges were Mayor O. F. Hubbell, Mrs. C. R. Parrish and Lee C. Brown. The name of the winner of the contest will be made public at the graduating exenises tonight, at which time the prize, a medal, will be awarded. The prize, the Pool Declamation Medal, if offered by M. H. Pool, of the J. C. Penney company. |
