Show CHRISTIAN SCIENCE. "Life" is the subject of the Lesson-Sermon Lesson-Sermon Sunday, July 20, in all Churches of Christ Scientist, branches of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ Scientist, in Boston, Mass. Golden Text: Proverbs 16:22. Understanding Un-derstanding is a wellspring of life unto un-to him that hath it. The citations which comprises the Lesson-Sermon include the following from the Bible: "The Spirit of God hath made me, and the breath of the Almighty has given me life." (Job 33:4). The Lesson-Sermon also' includes the following correlative passage from the Christian Science textbook, "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures," by Mary Baker Eddy: "Question. What is Life?" Answer. Life is divine principle, mind, soul, spirit. Life is without beginning and without end. Eternity, not time, expresses the thought of life, and time is no part of eternity Life is neither in nor of matter. What is termed matter is unknown to Spirit, which includes in itself all substance and is life eternal" (P. 468). o |
