Show CONDITIONS ON PROJECT GOOD Alfalfa and Other Crops Look Exceptionally Promising This Season It would probably be a revelation to many Milford people to make a drive over the farming project south of town this season. The second cutting cut-ting of alfalfa has begun, and is of exceptional quality and weight. But it is not only the alfalfa fields that are attracting attention this year. Bean crops, potatoes, and grains are looking fine. The farms in general have a prosperous appearance, appear-ance, and some exceptional yields are w anticipated this fall. " The Walter Weber farm makes a great showing of what can be grown on these rich lands of the Milford project. pro-ject. He has a bean crop, as well as grain, potatoes and corn. Last year he raised a very successful bean crop, notwithstanding the short season, and has even a better one this year. Only the other night in the hotel lobby, we heard a couple of strangers who ii.3d made a trip over the South & Mjlford farm lands, commenting on the splendid crops and fine farms in the district. They were very much surprised at what they had seen, and still further surprised that no effort was being made to advertise this very rich and productive farming district. The Milford project is developing and improving steadily, and its possibilities possi-bilities should not be underestimated. o |
