Show FUNERAL SERVICES FOR MRS. WOOD BELIEVE DEATH FOLLOWED STROKE Tuesday morning, November 27, Mrs. Pearl Wood, wife of Postmaster James V. Wood, of Minersville, met a tragic death, by being burned to death. She had carried hot ashes to an out-building, when she apparently suffered a stroke- The ashes caused a fire and she was burned beyond recognition before the body could be recovered. Her funeral services were held Wednesday, with Bishop George Marshall, conducting. The choir sang, "Nearer My God to Thee-" Invocation by T. V. Rollins. "Resting "Rest-ing Now from Care and Sorrow," was sung by the choir. The first speaker was Franklin D. Williams. He spoke words of condolence con-dolence to the family and told of the good life of Sister Wood. "Oh, My Father," was beautifully played on the violin by Professor Reese Griffiths. Grif-fiths. Counselor Henry W. Hall was the next speaker. Closing remarks wore made by Bishop Marshall. Closing Clos-ing song, "I Know that My Redeemer Redeem-er Lives." Benediction was offered by Brother Joseph Banks, of Milford. Pearl Wood was born in Minersville Miners-ville and was the daughter of Chas. and Lydia Burke. She is survived hv her huusband and the following children: Mrs. Merle Jameson, Mrs-C. Mrs-C. K. Jameson, Effie, 'Sherwin and Royal Wood, of Minersville, and a son, Floyd,- who is filling a mission in Colorado, for the church. |
