Show I SOUTH MILFORD The Community club met last Saturday Sat-urday evening at the club House. At the business session Mrs. C. G. Haskell, Has-kell, vice president was asked to finish fin-ish the year as president in lieu of the resignation of Mr. Leroy Luken as president. The club will not sponsor spon-sor the usual fair this summer but plan a day of celebrating community work and products at a date in the late fall after disposal of the usual routine business the club and their guests played "500" until a late hour when pie and coffee were served as refreshments. Mrs. F. W. Gospill and Miss Gladys Gospill accompanied the Wm. Cochrane family to Zion Park last Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. F. B. Robinson and Miss Kendall Franke of Rocky Ford spent Sunday afternoon at the Walter Wal-ter Weber home. W. J. Oppenheimer and Elmer Golden of Delta visited the Charles Thomas family on Monday. Billie Thomas returned to Delta with them. Miss Nellie Sanborn Towle of East Strondsberg, Pa., was a guest at the Cates home on Wednesday and Thursday. She is enroute to San Francisco via our wonderful southern Parks. Walter W. W. Cook has a brother visiting- him who will spend some weeks with the family. The Social Home club m'et last Thursday at the home of Mrs. Walter Wal-ter Weber, with Mrs. Horace Palmer assisting hostess. The pleasant social so-cial afternoon closed with the serving serv-ing of a delicious two-course luncheon lunch-eon by the hostess. The Poultry Association met two weeks ago on Sunday afternoon. The most practical method of feeding feed-ing young turkeys was the chief topic to-pic discussed and many helpful suggestions sug-gestions were given by experienced growers. Several piano duets and old-time songs added zest to the meeting-. Nearly all ranchers are now busy tutting the first crop of alfalfa hay. Damage by frost does not seem as great as was to be expected. Mrs. Reuben Jones motored to St. George last Friday and spent several sever-al days at the Thorley ranch where Mr. Jones has been shearing sheep. He returned with her to South Milford Mil-ford on Monday. |
