Report of Christian Science Service "Soul" is the subject of the Lesson Sermon, Sunday, August 17, in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, branches branch-es of The Mother Church, The First Church of Christ, Scientist, in Boston, Mass. .Golden Text: Psalms 63:5 "My soul shall be satisfied as with marrow and fastness; and my mouth shall praise thee with joyful lips." The citations which comprise the Lesson Sermon include the following from the Bible: "With my soul have I desired thee in the night ;yea, with my spirit within me will I seek thee early" (Isaiah 26:9). The Lesson Sermon also includes the following correlative passage from the Christion Science textbook, "Science and Health with key to the Scriptures," by 'Mary Baker Eddy: "The term souls or spirits is as improper impro-per as the term gods. Soul or spirit signifies Deity and nothing else. There is no finite soul nor spirit. Soul or Spirit means only one Mind, and cannot can-not be rendered in the plural" (P. '466). o |
