Show AUTHORITIES HAVE RIGHT TO QUESTION With the rigors of winter gone and the breeze taking on some semblance of balminess, the knights of the road again feel the urge to follow the swallow, or whatever it is they are in pursuit of. We notice several on the streets of Milford lately. There is nothing wrong in continual traveling, nor is their anything serious in the fact that these fellows stop awhile in Milford to rest from their travels. But if they are not kept right on moving, at least their business here should be inquired into, and if it be work they are seeking, they should be accomodated. By no means should they be allowed to idle about the streets, panhandling the merchants and snooping around back doors. f The smaller the town, the more right havejthe authorities to inquire directly into the affairs of any person who is unknown to them, if the appearance of the latter indicates that they travel to dodge work. Disliking work so much, if they become really hungry and 'broke' they are an actual menace in the country community. Just this week, a man was picked up here who was wanted in Pomona on a burglary charge. |
