Show U. P. SUPERVISORS " HAVE GET-TOGETHER B. R. DEPARTMENT HEADS FROM ALL OVER LINE BANQUET HERE Twenty-two men gathered at the U. P. dining room last Monday evening even-ing to partake of one of the best banquet dinners ever served In Mil-ford Mil-ford and to listen to several speeches that were chuck full of interest. The occasion was a banquet of the Mechanical Mech-anical Supervisors' association; it was arranged by W. F. Cottrell and Wm. Morley, of this city; and was attended at-tended by Union Pacific supervisors from all over the line of the L. A. & S. L. Foreman Law, of Provo, presided as toastmaster, stating the purpose of the gathering to be that of getting get-ting better acquainted. He called upon up-on most of the men present for talks, and as each man was a specialist ia railroad departmental affairs, the remarks re-marks were instructive and would have been, inspiring to a man in any line of work. I Those who addressed the group were General Manager Knickerbocker; Knickerbock-er; Superintendent of Motive Equipment Equip-ment J. F. Long; Master Mechanic Norris, of Las Vegas; Master Mechanic Mech-anic Wilcox, of Milford; Car Foreman Fore-man Johnson, of Los Angeles; Trainmaster Train-master McKinnon and W .F. Cottrell, of Milford; Chief Dispatcher R. M. Seale, of Milford; Storekeeper Wm. McGhie, of Milford; C. W. Wood, of Ogden, and president of the Mechanical Mechani-cal Supervisors' association; Sec'y Sickleco, of Las Vegas; Mr. Appleby, of Los Angeles; and the presiding chairman. The speakers dwelt mainly upon ways and means of increasing mechanical mech-anical efficiency; the extent and further fur-ther development plans for inter-departmental co-opertition; the qualities quali-ties of a successful supervisor and means of determining them. n |
