Show SCHOOL OPERETTA PLEASES PATRONS LARGE ATTENDANCE LIKES PERFORMANCE An excellent evening of music was provided at the high school auditorium auditor-ium last Saturday evening, when the students, under the training and direction di-rection of Miss Gwendolyn Smith, gave their annual operetta. The caption cap-tion of the musical play was "Windmills "Wind-mills of Holland." The cast all showed good stage presence and the vocal specialties were very good. The voices of Miss Vema Bird and Lauretta Murdock especially elicited much favorable comment. Costumes, designed for Dutch effects, gave the atmosphere in keeping with the play. Preludes and divertissements as fell as orchestra orches-tra accompaniments for the choruses were furnished by the high school band and orchestra, directed by Prof. Stanley Johnson. The entire evening's performance reflected well upon the efforts of the students as well as their instructors. A very satisfactory attendance of school patrons and friends was present. |
