Show NEVADA MAY HAVE COPPER PLATES, 1933 Nevada may have copper auto license li-cense plates next year after all and if so they'll put to shame the copper plates being used by Arizona, the pioneer state in using Copper as auto license plate material. Warden Matt Penrose of the state prison has had convicts experiment with the use of copper during the dull days of winter and they have created a beautiful plate. The Arizona plate, with white letters let-ters on copper in its natural color, is hard to read when the sun shines on it. Warden Penrose found that no such difficulty was experienced in using black or deep blue letters. Although copper is a triflie higher than other metals, it is argued that it is worth while from the viewpoint that such plates would advertise the fact Nevada is a copper producing state. |
