Show RELIC OF EARLY INDIAN DAY HUNTING J. J. Starley of Fillmore brought me in Wednesday a fine, old, well made, Indian rabbit ,or other small game net. . This net is woven in meshes about two inches in diameter; made of the twisted fibers the local milkweed; milk-weed; strong, light, and an excellent piece of workmanship. Mr. Starley has had it in his family for fifty years, so its age and genuin-ness genuin-ness cannot be questioned. This net was supported on sticks in a vertical position, then a great "surround" made, all the indians converging con-verging the game toward the net, and when the game so driven was congregated congre-gated in the neck of the net,, the women wo-men and children would beat the animals ani-mals to death with sticks.
