Show NEPHI BOY HIT BY 30-40 BULLET Dean Phillips, 14, son of Mr. and Mrs. George C. Phillips of this city, j was struck by a 30-40 Krag army rifle bullet last Sunday shortly before noon, when a neighbor, Angus Hay-nes, Hay-nes, accidently discharged the gun while in the process of cleaning it. . The bullet cut a deep gash in the forehead just above the left eye, cut- i ting a small chip from his skull. Sev-j en stitches were needed to close the wound. I I The boy was herding cows across the street from his home when the accident happened, and Angus Hay-nes, Hay-nes, who lives on the corner a block west, came out of his house to clean the rifle, and in some unknown way, it was accidently discharged the bullet bul-let hitting young Phillips. The im-pact im-pact of the bullet knocked the boyj from his feet, but was not knocked j unconscious, so he ran to his home. He was taken to the office of Dr. F. H. Beckstead for medical treatment. The shock of the affair put him in bed for a short time, but reports from the home Thursday indicate that he is getting along all right, and no ill effects will come from the wound. Nephi Times. n |
