League, Julia Hendrickson, leader, 7:00: Subject, The place of Youth in the Church. Evening worship, 8:00. In times of distress the need of the church is greater than at any other time. It is well enough to be happy when life flows along like a song; But the man worth while is the man who can smile when everything goes dead wrong. A large congregation gathered at the Methotlist Community Churoh to observe Mothers' Day. A fine pro-grant pro-grant of music was rendered by Miss i Vernice Smith, Mr. O. F. Hubbell and the Sunshine Class. Following this program three beautiful boxes of chocolates cho-colates were awarded. The youngest mother present, Mrs. Melbourne Hes-lington, Hes-lington, received one. The oldest mother present, Mrs. Bybee received one. The third was awarded to the largest family group consisting of Mrs. Palmer, Mr. Horace Palmer, Mrs. Heslington, Mrs. Ward and the great-grand-children. The pastor spoke on the subject of "Mother" and at the close of the service, carnations were presented to every mother. o |
