Show Motor Club Survey Shows 32,000,000 U. S. Drivers There were 32,000,0(X) driver In the United Stntes as compared with a motor mo-tor vehicle registration of 2C.5O0.000 on January 1, 1930, according to a statement Issued from the American Automobile association through the Hoosler Motor club. This was the highlight of a survey conducted by the national motoring body to determine the ratio of drivers driv-ers to cars throughout the country. Among the things disclosed by the survey are : 1. That drivers exceed motor vehicle ve-hicle registration by 5,.100,00. 2. That there are 1.2 drivers to every ev-ery registered motor vehicle. 8. That of the people eligible to drive, that Is, persons fifteen years of age and over, numbering 84,000,000,' one out of every 2.7 persons drives a car. 4. That of the 32,000,000 operators on the streets today, 22,000.000 are in states where it Is not mandatory thnt all motorists take an examination as to their ability, mental and physical, to drive an automobile! |
