Show ATTORNEY MEETS TRAGIC DEATH IN HOME AT MARYSVALE Wm. E. White, 70, an attorney who lived at Marysvale the past 30 years was burned to death when the small home in which he lived alone burned down at about 1:30 a. m. Tuesday. A tragedy of this sort occurred in Marysvale two years ago when Tom Gillan, an old mining- man, met his death in the same way. Mr. White came to Marysvale from Iowa, via Denver ,more than 30 years ago. He was reticent about his early life, but it was known that he had taght school at Denver and other Colorado points, studying- law and being admitted to bar there. He was also purported to have written several sever-al text books while in Colorado. He served as county attorney in Piute county ,and following that was Piute county "representative to the state legislature which elected Reed Smoot to the U. S. senate. His body, burned beyond recognition, recogni-tion, was found near the bed when the blaze had been extinguished after the home was practically destroyed. Two youths returning from a dance discovered the fire and gave the alarm. Before a line of hose could be laid .the roof caved in and it was several hours later before the fire had been extinguished so firemen could remove the body. Richfield Reaper. |
