Show LEGION CONVENTION LARGELY ATTENDED BY EX-SERVICE MEN The American Legion District Convention held in Milford Saturday and Sunday brought many Legion men from neighboring counties. The state department was represented by Commander George S. Ballif, Adjutant Adju-tant Otto A. Weisley, Aaron Horne ad S. Dow Young. These inspired leaders addressed the convention at Sunday morning session and brought a message of Americanism and Legion Le-gion service that makes Legionnairs proud of the membership in this great organization of over a million ex-service men. The convention endorsed the Widow's Wid-ow's Pension Bill, now before Congress Con-gress and wired our state representatives represen-tatives in Congress to that effect. This is one of the issues in the legislative legis-lative program of the Legion, and it is interesting- to note the Legion has never failed to pass . its legislative program through Congress, even over ov-er the president's veto. This Legion district is also cooperating cooper-ating with the state department in a clean-up campaign to adjust or reopen re-open all compensation claims of ex-service ex-service men. Any Legion or ex-service man who has a claim for compensation com-pensation or rehabilitation should get in touch with the nearest Post Service officer at once. The state department de-partment is getting results on service ser-vice claims. . The convention officials thanked Milford for its hospitality and especially espec-ially the men and women who gave their time and work to help make the convention a success. Socially, everyone1 every-one1 had a splendid time, and seriously serious-ly it was another mile-stone in the Legion progress.
